Standard (STD) and Live Pay Period fields

If an element is to be the same standard value each period, the relationship for the live pay element must have a ‘Standard value field’. This is sometimes shortened to 'Std'

Standard values are set at the start of payroll cycle. When a cycle is opened, the value populated in the ‘Standard’ field will automatically pull through into the ‘Period valuefield.

If the payroll cycle is already open and a new standard element is being added, both the STD field and the Period value field must be populated for the standard value to be present in the following cycle. If only the Period value field is populated with a value, the element will not have a value populated in the following cycle.

You can ‘force’ the standard values to be populated into the live Period value fields by ‘Initialising’ the employee record, which restarts the cycle for that one employee:

Alternatively, if you are adding an element for the first time you can populate both the standard and live fields in the first period.
