Upgrading your system

Purpose of this page

This is for on-premise customers only. If you are a hosted or web customer the upgrade will be completed by Advanced.

This page outlines the procedure for upgrading the Payroll desktop software to version 2.61.

You should be upgrading from version 2.58 or later. If you are upgrading from version 2.57 or earlier, please contact OneAdvanced Support. If you are currently running Payroll version 2.57 or below, stop now and contact OneAdvanced Support.

What you should do

Please read the remainder of this page and associated articles prior to completing the upgrade.

The upgrade checklist is provided for your reference. You can either edit it directly or print it out. Please retain and complete the relevant sections as you progress through the various steps of the upgrade process. Start by recording details of your current installation, as they will come in useful during the process. Other pre-installation steps to be completed are below.

Users with the desktop version of Payroll may check their version number by selecting Help > About Payroll from the main tool bar.

Before upgrading, please ensure all users have logged off the system and undertake a complete backup of your Payroll system, including the programs and data. If you do not back up your data and programs, and there is a problem with the upgrade, OneAdvanced Support will be unable to help rectify the problem. This must be a complete backup of the application and data in its entirety, which will need to be carried out by your IT department.

If you have the HR Manager personnel system linked to Payroll, you should already have upgraded HR Manager to a suitable version.

The HR Manager versions that support Payroll version 2.61 are v5.02U build 037 or later, 5.04R build 062 or later, v7.48.11.0 or later and v8.38.3 or later.

If you have the HR Manager personnel system please ensure that all HR users have logged out of that as well.
