Edit Pay Elements

Karishma Updated by Karishma

In the Edit pay elements tab, you can view and edit various aspects of each individual employee's pay. You can choose which employee to edit using the Employee select tool at the top of the page. The employee selection will be limited to those in the current Payroll cycle. You can click the search bar, search for and choose employees from the selection, or use the left and right arrows to choose an employee. You can read more about how to use the Employee select tool in the General system use guide.

With an employee selected, you can use the various tabs to edit the employee’s Pay elements. There are several tabs to choose from.

Pay elements

On the Pay elements tab, you can edit the Payment or Deduction values currently displayed, as well as add additional Payments and Deductions. Use the text box provided to edit the employee's worked hours:

You can also click New payment or New Deduction to add additional Payments or Reductions

These both operate in the same way, click the button to bring up a menu which will allow you to specify the amount. Choose the Addition or Deduction from the drop-down menu, and then write how many hours or the value you wish to add. Click Save changes to add it:

The Addition or Deduction will then be displayed in the Payroll cycle. You can re-edit them from this page. Any edits will update the payslip so you can preview how they will affect the employee’s pay. Once you are happy with the changes, click Save in the bottom right-hand corner to save your changes:

You can also click Revert to discard your changes.

Note: Clicking Calculate will cause the employee to be set to their default payslip, as dictated by their Manage employee page. This will remove any Payments or Deductions that you have been applied during this Payroll cycle.

Changing to a new employee will discard the changes (you will be warned of any unsaved changes).

Note: The Payments and Deductions available in the drop-down menu are set up in Payroll desktop version
