Ongoing sickness

Karishma Updated by Karishma

You can now enter an ongoing period of sickness that will be automatically applied to the diary each period until an end date is supplied.

There is a new button on the diary to input ongoing sickness

A new entry box will allow you to enter the dates of the sickness. Entering the start date will automatically tick the Automatically apply this open-ended sickness box upon clicking OK.

This will populate the diary from the start date to the end of the period.

If an end date is not supplied, when the next pay cycle is opened the sick days will roll forward across the next pay period automatically.

Once the sickness ends the end date can be entered in the End date of sickness box. If this date is within the diary (i.e. not in a future period) then the sick days will automatically update on the diary.

If the end date is in a future period, sickness days will continue to be added until the relevant period is reached at which point the sickness days will only be added up to the end date. Hence the end date can be entered as soon as this is known (e.g. from a sick note)

Once the sickness has ended the Automatically apply this open-ended sickness checkbox will be unchecked, to remove risk of losing subsequent manual changes to the diary days.

If the ongoing sickness was entered in error and needs to be deleted, removing the dates with the Automatically apply this open-ended sickness checkbox ticked will update the diary to remove that instance of sickness.

Be careful not to accidentally delete an old instance of sickness from the diary, potentially recalculating its payment, by clearing down the dates with this option checked.
