We are pleased to announce the latest release of Payroll for web version 2026.1.0 and desktop version 2.64.0

These release notes will guide you through what's new in Payroll and provide guidance on how to upgrade your Payroll software to version 2.64 (if you run the desktop version) as well as the year end instructions. For hosted and web customers, we will upgrade your system to the correct version.

Please read all of the guidance before proceeding with the upgrade. There is a corresponding T&A Release, version 8.48.0 due 27th Feb which is to support SNCP on the updated P60 template. There are no changes to any package link fields, therefore this can be completed at any time prior to loading the P60s into the self service portal.
Please refer to the Year-End Guide for information on how to update the system. (Customers with the Payroll desktop version will need to perform the upgrade.)
New Features
- Statutory Parameter Update
What have we done?
This release of Payroll includes changes to statutory parameters, correct for tax year 2026/2027, as known at the time of release.
Why have we done this?
To ensure the system remains up to date with current legislation

Details of the change
These include all Tax, National Insurance, Statutory payments and benefits as well as the increase in NIC reclaim for small employers on statutory payments to 9%.
- RTI submission changes
What have we done?
Schemas have been updated to cover RTI submissions for the 2026/2027 tax year

Details of the change
RTI submissions have been updated to submit for the new tax year, as well as including new data items for SPBNI and
- Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Changes
What have we done?
For the 2026/27 tax year, we have incorporated a number of legislative changes to SSP.
Why have we done this?
To ensure the system remains up to date with current legislation

Details of the change
There are a number of changes that have been made to SSP processing. These include the removal of the LEL as the threshold at which employees can receive SSP. This means that all employees will receive 80% of their average weekly earnings, or the current flat rate, whichever is lower.
Waiting days have also been removed so that eligible employees are entitled to SSP from their first full day of sickness absence, rather than the fourth.
To accommodate these changes there are specific transitional rules that have been implemented for employees who are serving waiting days on 6th April or are in receipt of SSP prior to 6th April and could see a reduced entitlement.

- Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay (Northern Ireland)
What have we done?
A new statutory payment type has been added

To facilitate the new Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay for Northern Ireland, we have added a new statutory payment to the system. For detailed guidance on how to process this in the web system, please see article HERE, and for the desktop system, please see article HERE.
- Student Loan Plan 5
What have we done?
We have added support for Student Loan plan 5 for which deductions can start to be made in the 2026/27 tax year
Why have we done this?
To ensure the system remains up to date with current legislation

Plan 5 will now be available from the student loan plan type dropdown. Student loan start notifications for plan 5 are now supported. The plan 5 threshold and rate have been added into the legislative tables
- Removal of Employment Allowance de minimis state aid

Details of the change
In line with updates to the EPS submission whereby de minimis state aid is removed for the 2026/27 tax year, we have removed the De minimis state aid sectors section from the HMRC Payments tab in Modify company details.
- Updated P60 design for end of 2025/26 tax year

The templates now contain Statutory Neonatal Care Pay (SNCP)
- Various Bug Fixes and Minor improvements

- Gender Pay Gap Report - Option to include employee names and numbers on the .csv export.
When running the report, ensure the Include employee number and name if exporting checkbox is selected ahead of running the export.
- Embedding OneAdvanced AI into Payroll web. This new button on the left hand navigation pane allows you to access directly OneAdvanced AI if you have signed up for this

- SSP Diary - fixed issue where automatically assigned non working day code F was being removed and not replaced
- Long term SSP - fixed issue where SSP was starting to be recalculated after 3 years of long term sickness in error
